CONTEXT
Facing operational overload and critical technical deadlines, OCSIN called upon Numendo to temporarily reinforce its system administration team. Challenges focused on ensuring service continuity—through SSL certificate renewals and software repository maintenance—managing evolutions related to Red Hat licensing, and automating critical processes.
INTERVENTION
Numendo stepped in directly across all aspects of the Red Hat Satellite infrastructure, Linux systems, and operations automation. Key responsibilities included:
• SSL Management: Renewing SSL certificates (WizeKey, SwissSign, etc.) on Satellite.
• System Maintenance: Updating the Satellite instance and associated repositories.
• Migration & Registration: Converting manifests, migrating to the new Red Hat model, re-registering machines, and executing global reconfiguration.
• Automation: Integrating Ansible to automate testing and certificate issuance.
• Provisioning: Provisioning Linux instances using Terraform and Packer.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinating with network, storage, and security teams.
• Change Management: Tracking changes and providing support during production rollouts.
The mission was conducted within a GitLab and VMware environment, relying on a structured methodology based on daily validations and weekly progress meetings.
