CONTEXT
The Établissement Cantonal d’Assurance (ECA) of the Canton of Vaud oversees critical prevention and rescue missions. Within this framework, the institution undertook the modernization of ProSDIS, a major software solution dedicated to the operational and technical management of fire stations (SDIS).
The main challenge was ensuring the technical sustainability of the tool while guaranteeing high availability for 24/7 emergency services.

INTERVENTION
Numendo stepped in to reinforce the telematics development team for the end-to-end fullstack design and development of the application. Key actions included:
• Fullstack Development: Redesigning the application using the Angular 19 framework (Front-end) and Java Spring Boot (Back-end) with Spring Security.
• Architecture & Data: Managing and taking ownership of a complex PostgreSQL database, implementing JPA/Hibernate layers.
• Telematics Innovation: Setting up a real-time communication channel via an MQTT client and an EMQX server for field data collection.
• Agile Methodology: Close collaboration under the Scrum framework (Jira/Confluence), including backlog management, daily standups, and sprint planning.
• Software Engineering: Drafting technical concepts, specifications, and delivering preventive/corrective maintenance for ProSDIS components.
• DevOps: Automating versioning and deployments via GitLab to ensure a smooth continuous integration pipeline.

ReSULTS
Numendo’s intervention enabled the delivery of a new ProSDIS version featuring a robust architecture and a modernized user interface (Angular Material). Thanks to real-time data streaming via MQTT, the system provides optimal responsiveness for fire station management. The technical ecosystem was fully stabilized, guaranteeing simplified maintenance and high reliability for public safety missions across the Canton of Vaud.
