Key points
Numendo supported Allianz Trade in performing a technical audit of its codebase and securing the B2B infrastructure of its financial risk assessment platform. The deployment of a senior expert made it possible to map the codebase, establish an optimization roadmap, and integrate advanced authentication features (SSO, 2FA) to facilitate product adoption among enterprise accounts.

Introduction
To reinforce the maintainability of its solution, secure its architecture, and accelerate the development of new B2B features, Allianz Trade turned to Numendo’s expertise.
CONTEXT & CHALLENGES
A critical decision-support tool
The platform relied on a full tech stack (JavaScript/React, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL on AWS) incorporating heavy asynchronous processing via queues and workers dedicated to algorithm calculation and report generation.
In this context, Numendo stepped in to address three major challenges:
• A neutral and independent audit: Analyzing the existing codebase to identify concrete avenues for improvement regarding performance, readability, and maintainability.
• Aligning business and IT: Helping the client re-internalize technical knowledge and ensure greater visibility over ongoing developments.
• B2B interconnection: Developing new functional integration blocks to facilitate platform adoption within institutional clients’ information systems.
Working on a financial rating platform was an exciting challenge due to the complexity of insurance business rules and high software reliability requirements. Our role was to provide an objective, external perspective on the codebase, co-create an improvement roadmap with the existing team, and develop key B2B integration features such as SSO and two-factor authentication.
DELIVERABLES
Collaborative audit and functional enhancement
1. Technical Codebase Audit & Recommendations
Rather than applying a top-down evaluation, Numendo conducted a highly collaborative code audit working hand-in-hand with the existing technical team. This collective approach made it possible to:
• Map codebase areas requiring priority refactoring.
• Evaluate asynchronous flow management and worker execution.
• Formalize a technical improvement roadmap validated by all teams and presented to management.
2. Development of Integration & Security Features
In parallel with the audit mission, our teams participated in application developments aimed at better integrating the solution with enterprise accounts:
• SSO (Single Sign-On) Authentication: enabling users to natively access the rating platform via their own corporate directory.
• Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): integrating reinforced security mechanisms to protect access to sensitive financial data.
• Report Flow Optimization: improving the efficiency of financial report generation and rating consultation.
RESULTS & OUTLOOK
A secured technical foundation
• Objective view of existing systems: Delivering a comprehensive, shared code audit identifying essential optimization levers for the platform’s long-term sustainability.
• Secured B2B access: Successful implementation of authentication building blocks (SSO / 2FA), facilitating solution deployment to corporate clients.
• In-depth understanding of business rules: Efficient translation of complex risk algorithms into reliable software features.
