Our commitment to solidarity: technology in the service of the common good

Impact and Culture
Notre engagement solidaire la technologie au service de l'interet general

At Numendo, commitment is at the heart of our identity. Founded in 2014 by three digital enthusiasts, our company is built on the values of high-level team sport: “knowing how to win while respecting your opponents, and sharing the victory with everyone involved”. That philosophy translates into a structured corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach aimed at promoting a more responsible society and leaving a viable world to future generations.

We are deeply convinced that our expertise in designing, developing and managing web, mobile and IoT applications can be a powerful lever for change. That is why we put our consultants’ skills at the service of projects with a concrete social impact, helping charities develop innovative solutions and amplify their essential missions. This commitment is fully in keeping with our determination to build a CSR community within Numendo and to encourage our people to take part in projects serving the common good, whether for Numendo or for society at large.

We are proud of the support and regular follow-up we provide to our people, of the development of their skills and of the value we place on the human dimension. The solidarity assignments presented below are a perfect illustration of this.

Colosolidaire: an interactive platform serving equal opportunity and the right to a holiday

The charity Colosolidaire carries out a fundamental social mission: helping children to go to summer camps. In doing so, it actively promotes equal opportunity and guarantees the right to a holiday for everyone, whatever their circumstances. Going to a summer camp is an essential formative experience, allowing children to create memories, develop their independence and flourish in a new setting.

The project and our contribution: since 23 June, our consultant Mélanie has been fully committed to working with Colosolidaire on the development of an interactive platform dedicated to administering and booking stays. This strategic project is already at the “advanced build” stage, a testament to the drive and effectiveness of the project team. Mélanie works in full-stack development, an approach that allows her to master the entire development chain. She is part of a multidisciplinary team made up of two developers, the head of the charity, a Scrum Master and a UX/UI designer, fostering a collaborative working environment rich in learning. The technical environment is built around modern, high-performance technologies: Node.js and React – Next.js.

The impact for Colosolidaire and the development of our consultants: putting this platform in place is crucial for Colosolidaire, because it will optimise their internal processes and make summer camps easier to access for a greater number of children. For Mélanie, this assignment represents a unique opportunity.

“Joining Colosolidaire is a tremendous opportunity to put my skills at the service of a cause close to my heart,” Mélanie explains. “It’s stimulating to work on a project at an advanced stage, within such a varied team. Not only does it allow me to build my skills in the latest technologies (Node.js and React/Next.js), it also lets me discover new working methods adapted to the constraints charities face — in particular the absence of a budget and the need for a great deal of adaptability. I’m learning a lot about team management and day-to-day communication. It’s a very concrete experience of developing my soft skills and a way of contributing directly to a project with a strong social impact.”

Cap d’Agir: a structuring web app for academic support for young people in Bordeaux

The charity Cap d’Agir is a key player in educational support in Bordeaux’s priority neighbourhoods. Since 2018, it has been working to actively contribute to the success of young people aged 7 to 17. Its work is based on organising free academic support sessions, run several times a week by around a hundred student volunteers and some twenty people on civic service placements. These sessions take place in a variety of locations: at the foot of housing blocks, inside secondary schools or in dedicated spaces, making support accessible to as many people as possible.

The project and our contribution: our consultant Adam joined Cap d’Agir on 30 June to support the development of a responsive web app. This application is crucial for the charity, because it will make it possible to structure, optimise and simplify the management of all their academic support activities. Adam is part of a technical team made up of a back-end developer and a DevOps engineer. The technical stack for this project is Java/Angular — robust technologies that will guarantee the reliability and longevity of the solution.

The impact for Cap d’Agir and the development of our consultants: implementing this web app is a major step forward for Cap d’Agir. It will allow better organisation of sessions, smoother management of volunteers and young people, and ultimately an amplified impact on beneficiaries’ academic success. For Adam, this assignment is an opportunity to give meaning to his expertise.

“This assignment with Cap d’Agir is very rewarding,” Adam says. “I get to put my Java and Angular skills at the service of a project that has a direct, positive impact on young people’s academic success. Working on an application that will make organising tutoring sessions easier means seeing the usefulness of our profession in concrete terms. It’s also an excellent opportunity to refresh my existing skills and to discover how a charity is organised, with its specific constraints and different working methods. It’s a tangible way of passing on my knowledge and getting involved in such an important initiative.”

H3P: a connected database to better support families and professionals

The charity H3P works to help parents and professionals identify and recognise high potential as well as the associated neurodevelopmental disorders, in order to better understand and support cognitive and emotional differences. Its work is essential in fostering inclusion, acceptance and well-being for the children and families concerned.

The project and our contribution: our consultant Charbel joined H3P to modernise and automate the management of their data and communications. Until now, many tasks were carried out manually, resulting in wasted time and growing complexity as the number of members and participants increased. Charbel has undertaken several structuring initiatives:

  • Centralising data from HelloAsso, memberships and ticketing into a single CRM database (Ohme),
  • Creating multi-criteria search routines to extract contact lists or generate reports,
  • Setting up automated tracking of memberships and registrations, with alerts and automatic emails,
  • Integrating with Mailjet to automate the sending of newsletters and communications to members, which are still done by hand today.

The impact for H3P and the development of our consultants: thanks to these changes, H3P is gaining in efficiency and reliability, and in its ability to track its activity over time. This allows the charity to devote more resources to its core mission: informing, raising awareness and supporting families and professionals faced with the challenges linked to high potential and associated disorders.

For Charbel, this assignment is a hands-on learning ground.

“It’s very motivating to work with a charity whose human impact is so strong,” he explains. “By setting up automated processes and connections between tools, I’m helping to free up time for the H3P teams so that they can focus on their support mission. It also allows me to build my skills in integrating CRM and mailing tools, in a context where efficiency and simplicity are essential.”

Our CSR approach: a recognised and continuous commitment

Our commitment to social responsibility is not an empty phrase, but a structured, measurable approach. We have defined our CSR management system and involved our main stakeholders in it. In particular, we rely on the provider EcoVadis to assess us and support us along this path.

We are especially proud to have held the EcoVadis Silver medal for three years, in recognition of our efforts and our performance in corporate social responsibility. This distinction attests to our firm commitment across essential pillars:

  • Human rights and labour: we work to respect our employees’ views, to combat all forms of discrimination and harassment, and to support everyone’s personal development by building a suitable career plan. We guarantee fulfilling working conditions, quality equipment and an environment conducive to well-being.
  • The environment: we strive to minimise our environmental impact, in particular by sorting our waste, using green electricity and controlling WEEE. We also pay attention to the carbon cost of our travel and to the eco-design of our solutions.
  • Business ethics: we ensure honest governance based on collective decision-making and a commitment to fairness. We guarantee fair practices and the fight against corruption and anti-competitive practices.
  • Responsible purchasing: our purchasing policy is clearly “responsible”, favouring environmentally friendly hardware and equipment and involving our partners, including freelance consultants, in our CSR approach.

This EcoVadis Silver recognition is not an end in itself, but a stimulating milestone that pushes us to go ever further in improving our practices and strengthening our positive impact on society.
