Recently announced, Google wants to improve its data storage system on its cloud by making it more flexible and, above all, cheaper. In addition to the 15 GB of storage available across the 3 services Gmail, Drive and Photos, it will now be possible to buy extra space.
What does this offer have in store?
The aim is to unify storage across Google’s services into a single offer. The big difference compared with the previous version of Google’s storage services is without doubt the price. The old rates were:
- €1.99/month for 100 GB
- €9.99/month for 1 TB
- €99.99/month for 10 TB
Whereas with the new Google One service, you will be entitled to a storage extension for Gmail, Drive and Photos with new rates, which are:
- $1.99/month for 100 GB
- $2.99/month for 200 GB
- $9.99/month for 2 TB
Note that this offer is for the time being only available in the United States, and that it is normal for the prices to still be in dollars. However, a French-language information site dedicated to Google One will announce the European prices shortly.
In terms of pricing, we can see that the storage space for the $9.99/month plan has doubled: convenient and very advantageous pricing that will help quite a few professionals.
In addition to the more advantageous pricing and space, Google is also offering the option to share the data — and therefore the cost of the plan — with 5 different people.

Note that these plans are storage extensions! The 15 GB free across Google’s services will not change; you will simply have the option to extend it.
