The American multinational has decided to put an end to repetitive tasks in its JS framework. The solution it is offering is a new component kit that will make development processes easier and, above all, save developers time. Discover Angular CDK.
Seven packages to make your front-end code easier
The development kit is divided into seven components, each with a very specific role:
- Accessibility: makes code accessible to everyone and allows users to navigate the site with keyboard keys
- Bidirectionality: handles text direction (right-to-left or left-to-right)
- Layout: handles page layout
- Observers: a listener that watches an element and emits a mutation if it changes
- Overlay: overlaying of menus, dialog boxes, and so on
- Portal: makes an application’s content dynamic
- Scrolling: reacts to scroll events
Two new, effective components
In addition to the packages, the development kit promises two components:
- Stepper: lets you create a multi-step element. The idea is to display content in several steps (hence the name “stepper”). Take the example of a form: first you display the surname, then the first name, and finally a validation step.
- Table: this component generates a table based on Material Design, made dynamic by the Angular framework. The table can be implemented easily by calling the component and assigning it the desired data. All that remains is to define the column and row templates, and the table can then be displayed. Additional options offered by Angular Material make it possible to add sorting, pagination and filters to the table — and these are what make this component so powerful.

Angular is currently at version 5.2.9. Even though Google is continuing to develop the framework, it is nonetheless trying to reinvent itself by creating new software such as Flutter.
